Multinational Glass Fibre Manufacturer
We worked with the leadership
team and their six sigma organisation to implement a global S&OP
process in this $900M business. The organisation had grown by
acquisition in Europe, but the acquired companies remained largely
autonomous from a planning point of view. Before we implemented
S&OP, the business had a very short-term focus, there was
no process to match supply with demand, and inventory levels were
rising rapidly. Within 6 months of starting the project, inventory
levels had been reduced to below the annual operating plan target,
customer service had improved and the business was dealing with
issues over an 18 month horizon.
National Biscuit Manufacturer
The Board of this £300M+ FMCG
business asked us to implement an Integrated Business Planning
process and a stage and gate New Product Development process.
The business had just relocated its head office leading to very
high management turnover, and had suffered from a profits collapse
the previous year. The IBP process was introduced to bring control
back to the business. Before the project started, inventory levels
were very high, along with discounts to clear age challenged stock,
and write-offs of obsolete packaging material as a result of disintegrated
processes between marketing, sales and operations. Within 9 months,
inventory levels had fallen from 22 days to 15, discounts had
reduced and packaging write-offs were minimal.
The business liked the StrataBridge
approach so much that we were asked to lead the Board strategy
development process, and subsequent development of a balanced
scorecard strategy map.
European Division of Global Paper Products Manufacturer
This $15Bn consumer goods giant
has pan-European product supply serving local country based sales
and marketing organisations, but was suffering from severe customer
service issues due to misalignments between demand and supply.
Major investment in SAP systems including APO and BW, had not
helped. Building on our S&OP knowledge and our additional
SAP expertise, we completed an assessment of their forecasting
and supply planning processes across Europe and developed the
plan to implement European wide S&OP.
European Division of Multinational Frozen Foods
Business
We planned and executed a Request
for Quotation process for this business, part of a $4Bn US business
who wanted to implement SAP-APO, BW and SEM. After development
of the business case, and the tender document, we arranged bid
presentations from various major SAP consulting partners, managed
the assessment process and assisted in the negotiations with the
potential vendors.
AI Manufacturing Plant of Global Pharmaceutical
Company
In this $20Bn pharmaceutical company
we designed and implemented a programme of workshops to educate
the newly formed management team on performance management and
the balanced scorecard. The output of the project was a balanced
scorecard strategy map reflecting the newly developed strategy
with objectives, KPIs and associated initiatives.
